The document reads, in part: " BY THE PROPRIETARIES. … WHEREAS Thomas Doughty of the county of Cumberland hath requested that we would allow him to take up one hundred acres of LAND … for which he agrees to pay to our use, within the term of six months from the date hereof, at the rate of fifteen pounds ten shillings, current money of the province …" Docketing on verso.
