A finely illustrated steel engraving print celebrating the "Declaration of Independence. In Congress July 4th 1776.", ca. 1849, measuring 10" x 12", on clay paper mount. Engraved by George G. Smith and published by Charles Root, Boston, Mass. This engraving features the entire text of the Declaration of Independence (included facsimiles of the original signer's signatures), surrounded by thirteen coat of arm medallions representing the original colonies while the country's first eleven presidents appear at the top. Minor margin clipping and loss, else VG.
