Manuscript document, 2pp., 12-1/4’ x 15-1/4’ np., December 4, 1771, VG. Titles, “An extract of the Balances in Col. Sam Washington’s Ledger” which lists nearly 100 names with account balances. Samuel Washington (1734-1781) was the son of Captain Augustine Washington (1693-1743, the second son of Captain Laurence Washingtin (1659-16970 and the brother of George Washington. Mentioned in the ledger are Warner Washington, Col. Aug. Washington, Charles Washington, Col. George Washington, John Washington, John Augustine Washington, and Thorton Washington. there are also several “Lee” family names includingCol. Lightfoot Lee, Col. Thomas Lee, Col. Fitzhugh .... and others.
