Timothy Pickering (July 17, 1745 - January 29, 1829) was the third United States Secretary of State under Presidents George Washington and John Adams. He also represented Massachusetts in both houses of Congress as a member of the Federalist Party. Two Revolutionary War Autograph Documents Signed by Timothy Pickering, each 8" x 5" to include; "No. 730. March 30, 1783. Received of Tim(othy) Pickering ... fifty dollars in full for transporting twelve chest arms from New Burgh to Philadelphia ... Ja. Broadhurst." ... plus "No 86, April 17, 1783. Received of Timothy Pickering ... sixty seven dollars ... for forage rations ... signed in behalf of Asa Andrews, Provost Marshal M. Army, Sam Sacketts."
