Ledger sheet, 2p. folio, headlined Boston, New England, November 27 & 30, 1734 recording sundry entries for merchandise and agricultural items, including Rum, Molasses, and more. Several of the entries mention Samuel Waldo a well known slave trader and owner of the Slave ship ‘Africa.’ Fine. According to the publication “Rebellion on the High Seas: Untold Stories of the Slave Trade” in 1734 Samuel Waldo, owner of the Africa, ordered his captain and crew to use many armed guards and "put not too much confidence in the Women and Children lest they happen to be instrumental to your being surprised which might be fatal."
