A good copper-plate, 8 1/2" x 14", London, ca. 1792, on laid paper, entitled: "View of The Attack on Bunker's Hill, which the Burning of Charles Town, June 17, 1775." An exact example of those produced for Barnard's New-completed Authentic History of England. It is interesting to note that this print does not bear the legend at the top indicating that it was not produced for that book. Therefore, this print was produced as a stand alone although it was accomplished by the same manufacturers. Engraved by Lodge and drawn by Millar. The print is surrounded by a highly stylized border with a royal military motif at the bottom. From the archives of the famed Kean Archives, Philadelphia. Very good to near fine with light soiling.
