1876 Centennial Reprint of the "Bloody Butchery" Broadside from the Revolutionary War Battle at Lexington-Concord, Fine. This scarce reprint document measures 16” 21" and has a dark waterstain along part of the left side. This 1876, historic reprint was made for the 100th anniversary of the April 19, 1775 battles at Lexington and Concord, in which American forces routed British regulars, effectively beginning the Revolutionary War. Printed on an earlier style of paper to mimic the real thing. Forty plain black coffins form the masthead; black borders of mourning surround contemporary accounts of the battles. Quite rare and the next best thing to owning a real one, which would be prohibitively expensive.
