Autograph Letter Signed "Andrew Ward", one page, octavo, June 4, probably 1755, Albany, New York to his son, Andrew, in Guilford, Connecticut. Paper loss to the upper-right corner of this letter obscures the date, however its point of origin coupled with a reference to General Phineas Lyman places it during the French and Indian War. It reads in part: "...We are yon and going to in camp at the half moon: Capt Isaac is shot thrue both shoulders with a round shot but it is hopes that he is not moartaly wounded; Gen' Lyman is not com...". Stains, aging, folds, and splits. Good condition.
