QUARLES, William Andrew (1825-1893) was a Tennessee lawyer, politician, railroad executive, and a general in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. He was severely wounded at Pickett's Mill and was wounded at the Battle of Franklin and captured while recovering from his wounds. Document Signed "Wm. A. Quarles" on $500 bond for The Memphis, Clarksville, & Louisville Rail Road Co. March 15, 1860. Fine condition.
