Hand painted lithograph print of the The Declaration of Independence published by Nathanial Currier, (1813-1888) just prior to his joining partnership with James M. Ives in 1857. This small folio sized print is an original lithograph, hand colored and of the period. It is not a later reprint. At one time a Christmas present as it is inscribed in brown ink at the top: "Anna Maria Bennett, Dec. 25th, 1858." Framed in its original mahogany veneer on pine frame, the print measures 10" X 14". The print overall is good with slight browning, especially in the margins. There is a slight white stain in the upper left and upper right. The frame with several sections of veneer loss. An excellent example of this popular print.
