Unusual Autograph Letter Signed, "Jno. Pierce" 1pp. folio, New York, February 2, 1786, addressed to Mr. Curtonius, and reads in full " Lieut Pattin Jackson of Dubois's Regiment informs Congress that he was a prisoner and exchanged in January 1781, but we have no notice of his exchange in our returns. If you can give me any information respecting him I will be much obliged. - the enclosed amount of monies received by him while a prisoner, have not been accounted for to the United States. I wish to be informed also if the same was credited by him on his settlement with you.." VG.
