Card, 3-1/2" x 2", PASS FREE issued by the Charleston & Savannah Railroad, issued to Mr. W. F. Colcock for "Relinquishment of 'Right of Way", May 25, 1862 Colcock was the Federal Collector of Customs prior to the war. After the firing on Sumter, he was appointed to the same position by the Confederacy. As the railroad passed through his property, he was given the FREE PASS for providing the right of way.
