An authentic issue of The Liberator, Boston, September 13, 1839, 4pp, disbound, slightly tanned, lightly foxed, VG. From the interior, five columns of various reports concerning the AMISTAD. Under various titles such as “The African Captives,” “The Amistad Piracy,” Mutineers of the Amistad,” “The Captured Brig Amistad” we receive all the up to date reports. In small part, "Joseph Cinquez, the daring leader of this band of captives is a hero ... he is a Negro who would command at New Orleans, under the hammer, at least $1500 ... The Captain and her crew were pirates by our own Congress law ... Enslaved people onboard rose on her for Liberty. It was a better rising than Bunker Hill or Lexington. ... These unhappy wretches are now in goal ... “
