THOMAS LIPTON (1850-1931). Merchant. The Scottish-born Lipton started his career as a grocer's clerk, but soon opened a chain of food stores. He entered the tea business and made a fortune, especially through the new medium of advertising. Signed card "Thomas J. Lipton". 5" x 3 1/2". Mounting trace on verso. Fine.
