War-date State of Connecticut pay voucher for Andrew Jack, signed on verso “Andw. Jack” 1pp. oblong octavo, June 1, 1782. Andrew Jack, a resident of New Haven, Connecticut, served in the Connecticut Line from 1777 to 1782. Jack is also listed as a member of the all black 2nd Company, 4th regiment of the Connecticut Line. This company was commanded by David Humphreys and consisted of 48 African-American privates and non-commissioned officers. It was formed in October of 1780 and served until November 1782. Circular punch cancellation, else fine condition.
