Louisiana slave bill of sale, orchestrated between W.J. McVoy and Hunter, Murphy & Talbott, on December 30, 1845, 1pp. quarto, Parrish of Tensas, and reads “We have this day bargained, sold & delivered to W.J. McVoy administrator of J. McVoy decd four negroes (to wit) Cary aged about 22 years old seven hundred & seventy five dollars same aged about 12 years old for 450 dollars & Charlotte aged about 16 years old and her child Sara Jane aged about 8 months old both for 725 dollars making in all $1950. The receipt we here by acknowledge the above named negroes we warrant sound and healthy and slaves for life...” Fine condition.
