Civil War carte de visite a young Colored Troops officer, signed on verso “Yours Respectfully James Anderson Capt. 21st U.S.C.T. Nov. 1st 1865.” Fine. The 21st USCT was created by consolidating the 3rd, 4th, and 5th South Carolina Regiments of African Descent. This unit went on to see action on the islands outside of Charleston and then occupied portions of the city and other destinations of South Carolina and Georgia after the war.
