Autograph Letter Signed, "Lincoln R. Stone Surgeon USV" 1p. quarto, Gallipolis, Ohio, February 11, 1865, U.S.A. General Hospital, addressed to Major Coates Kinney, pertaining to the receipt of his pay. Fine. Rare autograph of this famous surgeon of the 54th Mass. Lincoln R. Stone was commissioned in May 1861 into the 2nd Massachusetts Infantry as Assistant surgeon he transferred as surgeon into the Mass 54th in May 1863 and left the unit in November 1863 to receive a post in the Medical Department where he was brevetted lieutenant colonel.
