War-date Confederate Autograph Letter Signed “T.J. Britt” 1pp. quarto,Widemans, South Carolina, October 21, 1861, addressed to Messers. Gardiner & Russell, and reads in part: “...I send you by Mr. James Cason’s wagon one trunk and one box for Mr. C.W. Cowan which you will please forward to him...I also send you by Mr. Cason seventy five dollars ($75) for Mr. C.W. Cowan...as it is important for him to get the money before the regiment leaves Camp Butler, you will please forward it to him at the earliest moment...” Good condition.
