War-date Confederate Autograph Letter Signed “T.J. Britt” 2pp. quarto, Widermans, South Carolina, October 21, 1861, and reads in part: “I am glad to hear of your successful transition from the rank of Sergeant to a Lieutenancy and am sure the choice for the company could not have fallen on one more worthy of the Post. My object at present however is not to write you a complimentary letter, but simply to drop you a few lines concerning a matter of perhaps more particular interest...We have this morning sent your trunk and a box of edibles...I have also sent by Mr. Cason Seventy five dollars...” Good condition.
