Group of four (4) war-date Confederate officer’s Autograph Letters Signed by Captain George Bouton, dated June 8 through June 23, 1861, totaling four pages, three with separate covers, and read in small part: “...[6/8/61]It is necessary that the army should have wagons & teams, we shall have to supply it as far as we can...[6/10/61] In sending Jerry with the wagon he must have 2 pair of gray pants with a stripe & a round about and a wrapping like that they are making for the soldiers at Madison Ct. Hs. a felt hat my old one will do if it will fit...[6/18/61]I came down here on yesterday to see if I could not do something to advance my company in the way of usefulness. I have reported myself at headquarters who & what we were, and was requested by Gen. Lee to await an answer...There is a report here tonight that the Federal troops have evacuated Alexandria...” Fine condition.
