Pair of war-date Confederate officer’s Autograph Letters Signed by Captain George Bouton, and reads in part: “...[10/28/61] have been quite unwell...am better, the Doctor advises me to live light & keep in doors which I have done for two days. The ships have all gone to sea and the report here now is that there are 30,000 troops at Old Point ready to march upon us, which I shall believe when they come...Capt. Ro. Hudgins is today engaged at the wharf with his guns preparatory to moving to Ships Point...” [10/31/1861] Lieutenants Blankenbecker & Fray are both sick, so I have to be up an a doing, our big scare about a fight is all over now and General Magruder looks for it now sometime hence...” Fine condition.
