War-date Confederate Manuscript Document Signed, 1p. quarto, October 6, 1862, and reads in part: “...Article of agreement made and entered into this 6th Day of October 1862 between William S. Zirkle of the one part and Levy T.F. Grim of the other part. The said Grim has furnished to the said Zirkle Ten Thousand Dollars the said Zirkle is to Furnish the same amount and as much more as he can to be invested in Tobacco or any article that the said Zirkle thinks in his judgment will be the best investment the said Zirkle is to forward the Tobacco to the said Grim at Winchester and the said Grim is to sell it, and the profits & losses to be equally divided according to each one of the parties capital investment...” Zirkle would later serve with the 23rd Virginia Infantry. Very good condition.
