War-date Autograph Letter Signed, "Jones S. Hamilton Adjt. & Inspr. General" 1p. quarto, March 18, 1862, being a letter press copy on onion skin addressed to J.D. Hawkins, Hawkins Mills, Mississippi, and reads "The Governor directs me to say that he has recvd instructions from the Secy of War upon the subject upon which you write. You are authorized to enter any company for the war you may select, or you can go to Corinth & report to the Commandant of that post. You must advise this department as to your movements..." VG.
