A very rare war-date partly-printed Confederate officer's pass, 12mo., "Head Quarters, Post, Washington, Ark., Dec. 20, 1864," in part: "Pickets and guards will pass Capt. [George Washington] Hubbert [8th Missouri] & Lt. [George E.] Sears [Anderson's Arkansas Battalion Cavalry] to Jackman's Brig., Shelby's Division wherever it may be. By command of D. H. Lindsay, Capt. Com'd'g Post…". Brig. Gen. Sidney D. Jackman (he was promoted general in May 1865) was as feared in the West as Mosby and Morgan were in the East.
