War-date Confederate “Surgeon’s Certificate of Exemption” March 18, 1864, Danbury, North Carolina, stating that “B.W. Pullam a Conscript from 72 Regiment North Carolina Militia, having been examined...is hereby declared to be exempt from military duty on account of Pulmonary Disease from Pneumonia....Signed by PG Snowden, F.W. Roddy and JW Hines. Then marked “Revoked June 8, 1864” and signed by Alex Harris Surg. PACS, F.W. Roddy Surg. PACS, and Harris Smith, MD. Very good condition. The 72nd North Carolina Militia was from Stokes county, North Carolina.
