War-date Autograph Document Signed, "G.H. White" 1p. folio, January 11, 1864, Iredell County, North Carolina, addressed "To the officer in charge of the negroes from Iredell County at work on the fortifications near Wilmington, NC" and reads "I M.F. Freeland Clk of the Court of Pleas and quarter sessions for Iredell County do hereby certify that Mr. Hugh Reynolds to me well known is a respectable & legal citizen of said county and that he has been requested to bring away all the Negroes from this county who have been at work on the fortifications whose time has expired. You will please deliver them to him to bring home..." VG.
