Transmits report from the Acting Secretary of State, consisting chiefly of correspondence between the State Dept., the United States Consulates in Liverpool and London, and the United States Embassy in London. During her 12 months at sea, the rebel raider Shenandoah, covered 58,000 miles, sunk or captured 38 ships, took nearly a thousand prisoners, while incurring no casualties, most of these after the surrender of Robert E. Lee. Her actions damaged American shipping for decades to come. VG.
