William Chase, 45th Pennsylvania [WIA Jackson, Mississippi and the Wilderness] 3pp. octavo, Novitiate Hospital, Frederick City Md., Oct 7, 1862, In part, "I have got up this morning and put on my pants and have been walking around the room…we have very good care here, our nurses is of the Bucktails…there is quite a number of Bucktails here wounded. We are in a Roman Catholic building, there is ten beds in a room...the ladies here in the city come in to see us everyday...I don't know whether I shall be able to stay much longer. They are sending them away from as fast as they can...". VG
