A good war-date printed song booklet, entitled: "The MONITOR GRAND MARCH." composed by E. Mack, published by Lee & Walker, Philadelphia, 1862, showing a nicely tinted engraving of the USS Monitor and CSS Merrimac doing battle in Hampton Roads while the USS Minnesota lays grounded in the background. Dedicated to Captain John L. Warden who was, "…partially stunned by the concussion and was carried away. On recovering, he asked, 'Have I saved the Minnesota.' The reply was 'Yes and whipped the Merrimac.' He responded then I don't care what becomes of me." VG.
