War-date Union soldier’s Autograph Letter Signed by Charles E. Fowler, 1st Ohio Light Artillery, 2pp. octavo, pencil, Columbia, Tennessee, June 7, [no year] and reads in part: “...I should like very well to know the reson why you do not write. I sent your folks $15 and have not heard weather you received it or not...Direct Care Captain W.E. Standart 2nd O. Battery Negley Brigade, Columbia, Tenn.” Near Fine. Captain William Standart’s name is engraved on the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument in Cleveland, Ohio.
