Fox A.A.Genl.” 1pp. quarto, Head Quarters Dist of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee, January 26, 1863, being Special Order No. 31, and reads “ A Court of Enquiry is hereby appointed to meet at the City Hall in Memphis on the 27th day of January 1863, to investigate and report the facts in relation to the killing of Private Andy J. Winchester of the 18th Illinois Inft. by private William Ridenour Co. H 72nd Illinois Inft. near the Rail Road Depot in Memphis, on the 24th day of January, 1863.” Followed by list of officers detailed to the court including: Colonel Peter Sullivan, 48th Ohio Infantry; Lt. Col. Spencer Floyd, 120th Illinois; Lt. Col. John Reid, 130th Illinois, and Lt. Nathaniel Underwood, 72nd Illinois. Fine condition.
