Union Army pass, 1p. oblong octavo, Headquarters Military District of Washington, January 9, 1863, and is signed by Lt. William M. Dalgliesh of the 149th Pennsylvania Infantry, who was wounded in the right thigh and hand at Spotsylvania Court House, and reads in part "A. Snyder and four (4) friends having furnished satisfactory evidence of Their loyalty to the Government of the United States, will be permitted to pass within the Lines of the United States Forces to and from a cross Bridges & Ferry of Potomac for the purpose of Visiting…" Fine.
