War-date Document pertaining to Private Galen Wallace, 161st Regiment Ohio National Guard, 15-3/4”x13-1/2”, December 15, 1864, with large patriotic eagle masthead, giving “The President’s Thanks and Certificate of Honorable Service.” and states that “The term of service of their enlistment was short, but distinguished by memorable events. In the Valley of the Shendandoa, on the Peninsula, in the Operations on the James river, around Petersburg and Richmond, in the Battle of Monocacy, for which they are entitled to, and are hereby tendered, through the Governor of their State, the NATIONAL THANKS....” with tintype of Galen Wallace. Very good.
