War-date Broadside “A Proclamation!” 1p. 5-1/4”x11-1/4”, April 7, 1864, on blue stock, it reads in part: “...Whereas, Efforts are being made by the ‘Corner Store’ and ‘Bee Hive’ to wage a war of extermination on each other, which is regarded as Unconstitutional: Now, therefore, I Joseph H. Defrees, Do hereby Proclaim, that, from and after this date, the people can find a large and well-selected Stock of Goods! At my Headquarters, one door North of the Bank of Goshen...” Democrat Print - Goshen, Indiana. Fine.
