War-date Union Document Signed “By Order of Maj. Genl. O.O. Howard A.M. Van Dyke Asst. Adj. Genl.” 2pp. quarto, In the Field Goldsboro, NC April 9, 1865, on “Head-Quarters Army of the Tennessee” Special Field Orders Form, and reads in part: “The 15th Army Corps Maj. Genl. Jno. A. Logan Comd’ing will move at 5 oclock AM tomorrow with three (3) Divisions by the road via Pikeville toward Whittlesey’s Mills reaching a point within three or four miles of that place....The 14th AC Maj Genl F.P. Blair Comdg will move at 7 oclock Am tomorrow toward Whittlesey’s Mill by roads to the left of the Pikeville Route. The Mounted men of the Corps well advanced will as frequently as possible communicate with the 15th AC...” Fine condition.
