Union Document Signed “S. Baker 1st Lt. 6th US Infy”, 2pp. quarto, Head Quarters Sub dist of Coosawhatchie, Lawtonville, South Carolina, September 20, 1865, being General Order NO. 3, and reads in part: “...All persons in possession of US or Confederate arms will be required give them up, and all persons in possession of any kind of arms who threatened to use them for the prejudcie of good order and quiet will have their arms taken from them...Any apprehension or sign of riot, disturbance or insurrection must be reported and efficient measures taken to prevent the same...The presence of large numbers of idle persons of both sexes in the vicinity of camps being prejudicial to good order and discipline, and productive of vice and disease, must not be tolerated...” Near fine condition.
