War-date Union Autograph Letter Signed, “John B. Leek” 1p. octavo, on Head Quarters Armies of the United States lettersheet with matching cover addressed to Benjamin F. Nourse of the Chicago Board Trade Battery in Nashville. This letter is written from Washington D.C., February 24, 1865, and reads in part: “...The maps you desire I could not get the kind you want are not printed on a single sheet but in sets of States & counties it would take quite a number to show the country you have gone over. I do not think you could get them by application to the Department as they let no one have them but those high in command...” VG.
