Cabinet card photograph of the 41st New York Infantry’s Gettysburg monument by W.H. Tipton, very good condition. The 41st New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the American Civil War. They were nicknamed Dekalbs Zouaves for their gaudy French/American zouave style. During its service, the regiment lost by death, killed in action, 2 officers, 52 enlisted men; of wounds received in action, 18 enlisted men; of disease and other causes, 4 officers, 69 enlisted men; total, 6 officers, 139 enlisted men; aggregate, 145; of whom 8 enlisted men died in the hands of the enemy.
