A good postwar D. S. "James A. Ekin", 1p. oblong folio, [n. p., but Washington], April 1870 being a quartermaster's officer's account form for Capt. Clarence Mauck, 4th U. S. Cavalry. Signed boldly in the center of the document. Ekin (1819-1891) was promoted brevet brigadier general for meritorious service during the war and served on the commission which tried the conspirators of Abraham Lincoln. VG.
