War-date Autograph Letter Signed by Samuel Russel, Deputy Commisary, 1pp. quarto, New York, February 20, 1815, with integral leaf addressed to Caleb Green, and reads in part: “... When you was in Town you entered into an engagement on the part of the Westfield Manufacturing Company with me to furnish the U. States 15,000 yards of cotton shirting for army use, you proposed to send down loads during the winter as you finished it, as I have not heard from you and as peace has taken place, they will not be wanted unless immediately forwarded....” Fine condition.
