Small Spanish American War grouping, includes: Albumen photograph 5-1/2”x4”, of four soldiers armed to the teeth. Light, else VG...plus; Autograph Letter Signed by Frank R. Underhill, Co. G, 203 Regt NY Vols, 6pp. octavo, on printed regimental lettersheet, Greenville, South Carolina, December 25, 1897, and reads in part: “...The people of the south celebrate Christmas like we do the fourth of July and have parades, fireworks and etc....We havent heard any definite news as to what regiments will be mustered out under the 50,000 but the paper says that the 201st & 203rd NY are among the number...I was out to a ‘Moon Shine Still’ yesterday with the Chief of Police, it was one that was smashed up by the Revenue officers about a year ago. The Chief said that stills were run by very nice people in what is known as the ‘Dark Corner’ about ten miles from here...I would like to go to Cuba but I am afraid we won’t go for all the regiments that are to go have been ordered away so I think we are pretty sure of going home...” VG....plus; Broadside, 1p. 6”x11”, with lyrics to “In Greenville Far Away.” VG.
