Typed Letter Signed as President, “Woodrow Wilson” on White House stationary, 1pp., May 29, 1917, trim removes recipients’ name. In full, “My dear Judge: When I received your letter of the twenty-first, I took this matter up with the Secretary of War. I now take pleasure in sending you a copy of his reply, which I am sure you will find conceived in the frankness which always characterizes the Secretary. In haste, Cordially and faithfully yours.” Slight staining at right, else VG.
