Slave manumission signed by Lewis Vimont, who played a pivotal role in the Winchester and Lexington Turnpike Company of Kentucky, 1pp. quarto, August 12, 1842, and reads in part: "...Know all men by these presents, that whereas a certain Felix Geran transferred to me a certain negro girl named Zenoby until she should arrive to the age of twenty one years and then be free & whereas the sd girl Zenoby has arrived to the age of sd. now in fulfillment of the terms upon which sd girl was received & in pursuance of the agreement between the Felix Geran and myself, I do hereby manumit and forever discharge and forever set free the sd Zenoby from all the bands of slavery that she may forever hereafter enjoy all the rights and privileges of a free woman of color as if she had been born free..." Fine condition.
