Group of four (4) war-date Union soldier's Autograph Letters Signed by Henry Schrader, 7th Pennsylvania Infantry, 14pp. total, three letters on patriotic stationary, dated May 10- June 7, 1861, from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with unusual content in the final letter which reads in part: "...Our General was here on Wednesday and inspected us. He pronounced us a good set of men and ready for action anytime we were called upon. On Sunday towards evening our camp was thrown into a great excitement. A Negro shot a white man in the leg and run, the soldiers followed him and shot twelve bullets into him and one of the officers plunged his sword entirely through him, he died shortly afterwards..." The others are filled with camp news. All in fine condition.
