Excellent 19th century imprint "Dr. Anna Howard Shaw and Frederick Douglass" 3pp. 9"x12", with story of Anna Howard Shaw (1847-1919) a leader of the women's suffrage movement in the United States. She was also a physician and the first ordained female Methodist minister in the United States. Her birthday is celebrated as Anna Howard Shaw Day, as an alternative to St. Valentine's Day. And article "Who Frederick Douglass Was" with focus on his relationship with his white wife "Helen Pitts" which concludes with "Not to Southern whitem en, but 'to Dear Anna Dickinson and brave Theodore Tilton, is due the 15th Amendment,' and the fact that 'negro slaves were made political masters of their former mistresses!'" Fine condition.
