Group of Ten Original Press Photographs, 8" x 10," B/W, nine are from Selma Alabama, (six of which show Dr. Martin Luther King), one is from Birmingham. Eight are back stamp either UPI or AP, the other two have crop identifications and are certainly from the same press agents. All have description of the images on the front for use and credit of UPI & AP newspaper subscribers. 1.18.1965 Shows Abernathy pointing to Kings temple "Where King Was Struck"; ... plus, 2.15.1965 "King Leads March" of ministers; ... plus, 3.9.1965 "King Leads Off March; ... plus, 3.15.1965 King Carries memorial wreath toward Dallas County Courthouse; ... plus, 3.151965 "King Delivers Eulogy" for Rev. James Reeb who died following an attack on the Selma streets.... plus, 3.21.1965 "Dr. King Takes a Breather;" ... plus, 3.15.1965 "Marching Six Abreast" start the march again; ... plus, 1.26.1965 "Arrested at Voter Registration Line" shows Black man and police; ... plus, 1.25.1965 "Negro Women Fights With Officers" shows Black women on her back while Sheriff Jim Clark uses his billie club on her; ... plus, 3.25.1965 Crowd of 30,000 civil rights marchers fill the street in front of the Alabama state capitol. The Selma to Montgomery marches were three marches in 1965 that marked the political and emotional peak of the American civil rights movement.
