War-date Confederate soldier's Autograph Letter Signed by William R. Altizer, 63rd Virginia, Died of Disease, in Atlanta, 1pp. oblong octavo, Little River, Virginia, August 22, 1862, addressed to Governor Letcher, and reads "I wish to know if I cant be detailed to do the Blacksmithing in my neighborhood at the request of its citizens. My age is about 37..." with Autograph Endorsement Signed on verso "Respectfully Referred to Maj. General Floyd. John Letcher Aug. 27, 1862." Fine condition.
