War-date Confederate Autograph Letter Signed "A. Anderson" 2pp. octavo, Knoxville, Tennessee, September 25, 1862, addressed to Major J.F. (deS) Belton, and reads in part: "...Permit me to introduce to you my son David D. Anderson who has been ordered to report for duty to Maj. Genl. Smith. If you would have it in your power to render him any service be assured I shall most highly appreciate your kindness. I am just from Richmond, & spent an evening with your Aunty Mrs. Kirby...She takes a deep interest in the progress of our arms in Kentucky & is greatly gratified at our brilliant success in that old state..." Very good condition.
