War-date Confederate soldier's Autograph Letter Signed by Thomas W.G. Inglett, Company C, 28th Georgia Vols, WIA at Cold Harbor and Darbytown Road, 2pp. quarto, James Island, South Carolina, September 7, 1863, and reads in part: "...I wrote to you that I heard that our Regt was all taken by the Yankees but it is not so. They got in this morning, we lost 4 out of the Regt. Capt. [John R.] Haines got killed and three privates. We had three or four wounded slightly. Sergt. E.E. Grover got wounded and went to the hospital...I have almost got out of heart of the war ever ending. I think that they will keep us all here till they get us all killed then they will be satisfied but I hope the Lord is with us..." Fine condition.
